54. Game 1, 2011: Will Hopoate scores on debut for NSW
With just 15 NRL games under his belt Will Hopoate became the third youngest player to don the sky blue behind Brad Fittler and teammate Jarryd Hayne, but the youngster displayed composure well beyond his years in touching down for a crucial four-pointer inches inside the hand touch-in-goal line. Off the back of offloads from former captain Kurt Gidley and current skipper from Paul Gallen, halfback Mitch Pearce loops a cut-out ball across to the son of former NSW winger John, who takes the ball high above his head before diving low to beat the cover defence of Queensland fullback Billy Slater and bag the most memorable of debut tries as the Blues march to a series leveling 18-8 win at ANZ Stadium.
