Rising Melbourne Storm playmaker Cody Walker has signed for South Sydney on a two-year deal, the Rabbitohs announced on Tuesday. The reigning Queensland Cup Player of the Year will join the club from 2015.

Walker, 24, has been an integral member of the Easts Tigers, Melbourne's Queensland Cup affiliate, and has been unlucky not to get a start in the NRL this season due to an untimely hamstring injury.

Rabbitohs coach Michael Maguire said the signing of Walker would assist in building South Sydney's stocks in the halves for next few seasons.

"Cody has been on our radar for a while and we're pleased to have secured his services for the next two seasons," Maguire said.

"He's proven himself at Queensland Cup level and we're looking forward to working with him and introducing him to our full time squad next season."
