The Roosters have confirmed they will conclude their nine-year affiliation with NSW Cup outfit Newtown Jets at the end of the 2014 season.
The decision brings to a close the fruitful relationship between two of the game's foundation clubs, with the Roosters set to pursue a formal agreement with Wyong for 2015 in a bid to take advantage of the Central Coast's status as a key rugby league nursery.
Newtown's alliance with the Roosters has proved a successful one in recent seasons, culminating in the Roosters’ 2013 premiership triumph, while the Jets claimed the NSW Cup title a year earlier also progressed to the second week of last year's finals series.
The news comes on the back of an alliance the Roosters made earlier in the year with the entire Central Coast Division Rugby League, in which the NRL outfit outlined plans to implement a series of development pathways and participation initiatives for the 5500 registered players, coaches and officials associated with the division.
