He has already drawn comparisons with one of the greats of the game and Luke Brooks has set himself up for a long and distinguished career by winning the Peter Moore Award for Rookie of the Year.

Joining the likes of Daly Cherry-Evans and Adam Reynolds as recent winners of the award, Brooks dazzled in his one and only appearance in 2013 and backed that up with 21 games in the top grade for the Wests Tigers.

Handed the unenviable task of taking over the playmaking duties from Benji Marshall, Brooks quickly formed a lethal combination with fullback James Tedesco and used his kicking game to wonderful effect in the first half of the season particularly.

His 12 try assists were a solid return for a young half who was targeted defensively and with Jason Taylor to mentor him at the Tigers for the next three years it appears the sky is the limit.
