The Eels' new brigade carried Parramatta to a close win over Manly as 2015 signings Brad Takairangi and Reece Robinson combined for three tries and future stars John Folau and Halaufa Lavaka also crossed, helping the Eels to a 22-17 win to open the tournament.
For Manly, prop Josh Starling pushed over and converted his own try while youngsters Tony Satini and Tom Trbojevic also scored in a frantic end-to-end match.
