South Sydney player Kirisome Auva'a has failed in a bid to appeal against his suspension from the NRL.
Mr Auva'a sought leave to appeal against the suspension imposed by the NRL after he pleaded guilty to recklessly causing injury in a domestic issue.
The suspension imposed was for a minimum of nine months and the NRL ruled that any application to return to the game would not be considered until he demonstrated behavioural change designed to prevent the recurrence of violent behaviour toward women.
Mr Auva'a sought leave to appeal against the decision to suspend him, including the severity of the suspension period.
However, the NRL Appeals Committee found there were no grounds for appeal and his application for leave was dismissed.
Mr Auva'a may apply to have his suspension lifted on July 27 with a view to being re-registered on 13 August.
He will only be re-registered if he has met the conditions imposed as part of his suspension.
