The NRL passes on its condolences to friends and family following the passing of Kel O'Shea.

UNICEF Australia has thanked the NRL for supporting its response to the devastation caused by Cyclone Pam in Vanuatu, with thousands of dollars raised by the code.

"The generosity and compassion of the rugby league world in response to this emergency has been overwhelming," UNICEF Australia chief executive Norman Gillespie wrote to NRL CEO Dave Smith.

"Your contribution of $50,000, along with the National Rugby League's support of our Vanuatu appeal will help protect the rights of children throughout the region."
