In-form Broncos forward Alex Glenn has been ruled out of contention for the Kiwi Test team next week despite receiving good news from the medical specialists on Monday.

Glenn suffered a fractured eye socket that forced him from the field in Brisbane's 12-10 loss to the Dragons last Friday and although he will not require facial surgery, he will be sidelined for 4-6 weeks, ruling him out of the chance to play for his country on Suncorp Stadium next Friday.

Playing for a new contract, Glenn has been consistently one of the Broncos' best performers in their strong start to 2015 and is looking at a return in Round 11 at the earliest.

"Of course I am disappointed I have no chance to play for New Zealand now," Glenn said. "But when the doctor told me I would not need to have an operation I was very, very happy.

"That means now I can just concentrate on my recovery and getting back to play for the Broncos as soon as I can."
