All four teams competing in the Pacific Test Double Header on Saturday night at Cbus Super Stadium were given a Mayoral welcome on the Gold Coast today.

Players from Samoa, Tonga, Fiji and PNG assembled on the Gold Coast ahead of the historic double header on Saturday night
They were officially welcomed to the region by Gold Coast City Mayor Tom Tate at Dreamworld amusement park.
“The Pacific Test double header will be an incredible spectacle,” NRL Head of Football Todd Greenberg said.
“All four nations have named extremely strong, talented squads. The success of Samoa at last year’s Four Nations highlighted the talent available in the Pacific and to have these players come together on one night on the Gold Coast will be wonderful to see.
“The NRL is fully supportive of the region through our Pacific Strategy and I can’t wait to see the talent in the Pacific showcased in two Test matches.”
Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate officially welcomed the four Pacific Island teams to the city today during a ceremony at Dreamworld.
“It’s fantastic to see this event here on the Gold Coast,” he said. “One of the key elements of our Sport Plan is to grow our reputation as a sporting events capital and it’s events like this that are helping us get there.
“I’d like to urge everyone to come out to Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday evening to watch some exciting rugby league at an affordable price.”
Six nations will feature on the night. Prior to the Pacific Test double header, the Junior Kangaroos will face off against the Junior Kiwis.
