On day two of the 2015 Touch World Cup teams found their groove despite the frustrations of the weather.
Day two began under a sunny, blue sky but turned dark and grey fairly quickly. The gloomy clouds rolled across the C.ex Coffs International Stadium and dumped a downpour.
The conditions made it a logistical nightmare for organisers as fields have been closed and several draw changes made to accommodate the alterations.
Despite the boggy fields and wet weather, the matches remained high quality.
Australia and New Zealand have breezed through their matches but the contests between the developing nations have been entertaining across the board.
Singapore and South Africa played out an exciting 3-all draw in their women's open match in the World Cup group.
In the women's 27s, France scored on the full-time hooter to deny England a win. The pair finished the game 5-all.
South Africa won a high-scoring match in the men’s open 11-7 against Samoa, while Japan continued to show improvement across the board as has Papua New Guinea.
Chile defeated China in the battle of the debutants in the mixed open division.
The Pacific Island nations have done well at the World Cup while some of the European teams know they need to rally otherwise their campaign will end early.
Trans-Tasman rivals Australia and New Zealand have played each other twice today and it has been the Kiwis who have come out on top in both games
