Rookies Kodi Nikorima (Broncos), Jack Bird (Sharks) and Solomone Kata (Warriors).

The two Jennings boys from Penrith, Cronulla's Jack Bird, Kane Elgey at the Titans and Broncos pair Kodi Nikorima and Joe Ofahengaue are just a few of the players to have made their debut in 2015. But who do their peers like as potential rookie of the year contenders?

James Segeyaro (Panthers) – Tom Trbojevic

"Unfortunately he got injured when he played against us but I think he’s going to be a gun down the line. If he keeps going for the whole season, he’s going to have a killer season. He’s strong, he’s fast and he’s not scared to take the line on. And he’s good under the high ball. I’d definitely like to see how well he does in the future."

Beau Falloon (Titans) – Kierran Moseley

"I know he's a teammate but I'd have to say Kierran Moseley. You can tell he's got a lot of talent and he's also keen to learn. He's going out there every week and doing his job. He's done a great job to play as many minutes as he has at such a young age in such a tough position."

Mitchell Moses (Tigers) – Jack Bird

"I played a lot of footy with Jack in the juniors in rep sides. He played back row when I was playing him and slipped into the centres every now and then. I played with him and he was playing lock. He's a versatile player. You can chuck him anywhere and he'll do the job. You always knew from a young age he was going to kick on. He's something special."

Simon Mannering (Warriors) – Solomone Kata

"Solomone Kata has been really good and really improved from the start of the season through to now. That’s all you can ask of a young guy, to try and get better each week. With the ball is what he is there to do and defensively he has really worked on his game too."

Jarrod Wallace (Broncos) – Kodi Nikorima

"Kodi is one of those guys that is so versatile he can play anywhere. He's fast and he's been really good in his defence too. He's not a big guy but he just tucks his body in there the best he can and has been going very well. Last week (Round 7) he fitted in well when 'Hodgo' (Justin Hodges) pulled out with his hammy and he did a really good job for us. I think he's been going very well and he's got a big future ahead of him."

Thomas Leuluai (Warriors) – Sio Siua Taukeiaho

"I really like Sio Siua Taukeiaho. I thought he was a great player when he was here and he hasn't missed a beat. He looks like he has played first grade for a long time, the stuff he does off the ball and his work ethic, I think he has been really impressive."
