Ipswich Jets' Sam Martin got in on the try-scoring in a high-scoring round of the Intrust Super Cup.

The tries flowed in Round 9 of the Intrust Super Cup with only one match failing to produce 50 or more points over the course of an action-packed weekend.

Defence was thrown out the window with a whopping 72 tries and 404 points scored over seven games.

Table-topping Townsville Blackhawks posted the highest total of the round, running in 14 tries during their 78-6 mauling of the Burleigh Bears.

Cowboys winger Kyle Feldt bagged a hat-trick and booted four goals for a personal tally of 20 points for the home team with Zac Santo, Jonathon Reuben and Nathan Norford scoring two tries each as the Bears crashed to their heaviest defeat in the Intrust Super Cup.

In Saturday's other results, the Ipswich Jets slipped back to fourth place despite seeing off Easts Tigers 32-24 at home, while Wynnum Manly Seagulls remain second after overcoming fellow scavengers Tweed Heads Seagulls 22-12 in a heated contest at Kougari Oval.

Sunday's results saw the PNG Hunters move up to fifth with a 36-16 win over defending premiers Northern Pride and Redcliffe Dolphins kept Souths Logan Magpies at the foot of the ladder with a 34-28 away win at Davies Park.

Mackay Cutters moved into third place after a runaway 50-16 victory at home over the Sunshine Coast Falcons and out of favour Broncos centre Dale Copley was amongst the try scorers for Norths Devils as they pipped CQ Capras 26-24 at Bishop Park to record just their third win of the season.
