The high-flying North Queensland Cowboys have secured the services of coach Paul Green for a further three seasons.

The club made the announcement on Wednesday that Green had agreed to a new three-year deal that will keep him at Townsville through until at least the end of the 2018 season, with a current winning record in his first two seasons of 63 per cent.

The Cowboys are currently riding a club record nine-match winning streak after starting the season 0-3 and are equal competition leaders alongside St George Illawarra and Brisbane ahead of their Round 13 clash with the Eels on Monday night.

In their best position to qualify for a grand final appearance 10 years after their first and only visit to the big dance to date, Green said he was delighted to have his future settled and the prospect of what the team can achieve.

"I'm really happy to have the future settled and excited about where the club is going with the footy program," he said.

"Given my wife Amanda is from Home Hill, the whole family feels settled in North Queensland. It's a perfect fit for all of us.

"I've got a great bunch of players here to work with and I'm thrilled about what the future holds for the Cowboys.

"I've got a very good staff, a terrific playing group and a tremendously supportive board."
