Under 18s players from Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and Northern Territory, all attended NRL Welfare and Education sessions at the Affiliated States Championship held in Darwin over the June long weekend.
All players and officials were taken through the Better Choices Program and were updated on the game's Anti-doping Education.
Joe Messina, the Affiliated States co-ordinator, was extremely pleased with the education session for the players and believes this is leading to a more professional approach form each of the State and Territory.
"The more these players are exposed to this type of education the more they realise that rugby league is more than just a game," Messina said.
"It's about creating better men during their time in the game."
