Four teams are beginning to break away from the chasing pack as the Intrust Super Cup passes the halfway point of the season.
Wins for the ladder-leading Townsville Blackhawks and fourth-placed PNG Hunters, coupled with byes to Wynnum Manly Seagulls (second place) and Ipswich Jets (third) ensured the top four remain unchanged at the conclusion of Round 14.
The Blackhawks (24 competition points) maintained their two-point gap at the top with a comprehensive 46-6 victory over the lowly CQ Capras courtesy of Zac Santo's hat-trick and an 18-point haul to Kyle Feldt, while a crowd of 15,000 watched the Hunters (22 points) down Souths Logan Magpies 34-12 at Sir John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby.
Saturday's other match saw the Cutters move up to fifth on 18 points with 28-18 win over Redcliffe at Stadium Mackay.
In Sunday's results defending premiers Northern Pride are slowly creeping up the ladder, moving into seventh place after running away with a 28-6 victory over the Sunshine Coast Falcons.
Burleigh held off a spirited Norths Devils 19-12, while Titans forward Dave Taylor missed out on the Tweed Head Seagulls' 24-all draw with Easts Tigers after being named 18th-man prior to the Gold Coast's 28-14 win over Canterbury.
