Images of missing persons will be displayed on the big screens at two Sydney NRL Telstra Premiership matches as part of National Missing Persons Week 2015.
The NRL, the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the St George Illawarra Dragons have partnered with the NSW Police Force to raise awareness of the week which aims to reunite loved ones with people who are missing.
A short video will played at South Sydney's clash at ANZ Stadium and St George Illawarra's match at Jubilee Oval.
NRL Head of Football Todd Greenberg said the NRL is proud to be supporting with Missing Persons Week 2015.
"Rugby league is a community game at its core and we are pleased to be able to play a role reconnecting families with their loved ones," Mr Greenberg said.
"Our game has the ability to reach a large and diverse audience and if this leads to just one tip-off, it makes it worthwhile."
NSW Police Force Operational Communications & Information Commander, Assistant Commissioner Peter Barrie, thanked the NRL for taking part in National Missing Persons Week.
"National Missing Persons Week is an opportunity to highlight the issues surrounding missing persons and how it affects everyone in the community," Assistant Commissioner Barrie said.
"This year nearly 12,000 people went missing in NSW, and while most have since been found safe and well, 57 remain missing. Having a loved one go missing is extremely distressing and can have a devastating impact on the person's family and friends.
"But that's what National Missing Persons Week is about; remembering those who remain missing and doing what we can to help bring them home safely," Assistant Commissioner Barrie said.
"The 2015 campaign is also urging people to 'Follow Your Instincts'.
"If you think someone you know has gone missing, we want people to know they don’t have to wait 24 hours to contact police, 'Follow your Instincts' and take immediate action," Assistant Commissioner Barrie said.
