Endeavour Academy formed the guard of honour and met Cowboys players as part of Indigenous Round.

Endeavour Academy were given the opportunity to be the guard of honour for the NRL Indigenous Round clash between the Cronulla Sharks and North Queensland Cowboys on the 8th of August 2015.

Before the guard of honour some of the boys were involved in an Oztag game before the NRL game where we saw many smiles as most of the boys have never played on the field at Remondis Stadium – let alone a professional rugby league ground.

Shortly after the mini games the fellas were lucky enough to join country music legend Col Hardy in the centre of a packed Remondis Stadium for a rendition of the famous song "I am Australian".

Col Hardy is Academy Director Jeff Hardy's father, and holds many prestigious awards – one of the most notable being the first Aboriginal artist to win a Golden Guitar at Tamworth's Country Music Awards in 1973.

After the game a few of our boys were given the opportunity to meet some of their favourite NRL stars from the North Queensland Cowboys which included Johnathan Thurston.

The boys were stoked and many said they wouldn't wash their hands for weeks after shaking Thurston's hands. What a great night!
