Penrith Panthers winger David Simmons will retire from rugby league after the club's final game of the season against the Knights it was announced on Monday.

The 30-year-old will finish his career with his 200th appearance in the NRL.

Simmons made his debut for the Cronulla Sharks in 2003 where he played seven seasons before joining the Panthers in 2010. 

He also his part of an illustrious list of players to have registered 100 tries in first grade.
