NRL match review committee coordinator Michael Buettner has explained the thought process behind Brisbane's decision to enter a no contest plea for Alex Glenn's charge from Thursday night's win over the Rabbitohs.
Glenn was cited for a 'crusher tackle' on Rabbitohs playmaker Adam Reynolds, with the match review committee classifying it as a grade one dangerous contact – head/neck charge, which will see the Broncos second-rower miss his side's Round 26 clash with the Storm.
"They've submitted a no contest plea for Alex Glenn, which means they've got the opportunity to reduce the number of carry-over points that he'll have going forward into the finals series," Buettner said.
"From that perspective, the Broncos thought it was the best option."
