Four-time Premiership winning Dragons halfback George Evans died on Christmas day.

The St George Illawarra Dragons are deeply saddened at the passing of four-time Premiership winning halfback George Evans, on Friday.

Evans passed away on Christmas Day and is survived by his wife Denise and his children Peter and Jodie and their respective families.

The talented halfback scored 11 tries from 68 appearances in his seven-year career with the Dragons, which also included winning consecutive Premierships in 1962, 1963, 1964 and 1965.
