The Brisbane Broncos have today celebrated a significant milestone in their future with another piece of the proposed $25 million Training, Administration and Community Facility (TACF) puzzle put in place.
Work has begun on preparing the Fulcher Road site that will become the home of the NRL franchise.
The new building, which is planned to be completed in just over a year, will house the administration and football arms of the 29-year-old club in the same premises for the very first time.
The Broncos’ TACF will also become an important part of the Red Hill community, with the new building to accommodate several areas with community access, and open up new green space for the general public.
The TACF will include a gymnasium, sports medicine facilities, and office space for administration staff as well as a dedicated community room.
The plan is to position the building alongside a training field built to the exact proportions as the club’s Suncorp Stadium home ground, which will be available for access to the wider community when not in club use.
Broncos’ chief executive Paul White said it was a momentous day for the Brisbane Broncos, as he noted the support from all levels of government through the project’s tenure.
“Today’s event marks the culmination of over three years of hard work for the club,” said White.
“This building will enable our entire operation to be located under the one roof for the first time, and signifies to our players, staff, members and fans that the club is in great position to move forward with a secure future in place.
“It is also appropriate that we thank the State Government for their continued work and support of our vision for this project.
“We make particular thanks to our local member Steven Miles for his advocacy and for understanding how important this project is for the future of this club and of its significance to the local community.”
