Whether you've never played NRL Fantasy before or just want a quick way to win an easy $500 on any given week, NRL Match Day is the perfect game to pick up and play this footy season.

How does it work?

Couldn't be simpler. Every Thursday night game of the NRL season, starting in Round 1, is a 'Match Day' game in NRL Fantasy. To play, go to the Match Day section of the NRL Fantasy website or the Fantasy app and pick six players from that game – one for each position in NRL Fantasy. That's one winger/fullback, one centre, one half, one back-rower, one front-rower and a hooker.

Your six-man team can be made of any combination of players from either team involved. Pick a captain, who will earn triple points, and a vice captain, who will earn double points.

No interchange, no salary cap, no ongoing week-to-week team, and you can change your team right up to kick-off. Just pick six players, name your captains, and the top-scoring team each week will earn their Fantasy coach $500.

Have a bad week? No dramas. Come back next Thursday and pick an entirely new team.

Want more?

Start up your own Match Day Thursday leagues to take on your friends. If you're already playing a Classic Fantasy League or a Draft league, here's another way to claim bragging rights throughout the season.

Or play the Match Day mini-games throughout the season for more chances to win prizes. Win a signed and framed Test Match jersey by winning the Test Match Day game. Win a signed and framed State of Origin game ball by winning any of the three Origin Match Day games.

Or take out the $2000 prize by winning Finals Match Day, played across the four weeks of the NRL Finals series.

Where do I sign up?

Right here. NRL Fantasy is free to play, and gives you access to Fantasy Classic, Draft, and Match Day games.

The Match Day Thursday kicks off with Thursday night's season-opener: Eels v Broncos. Jennings or Roberts? Peats or McCullough? Pick your six-man Match Day team before kick-off at 8.05pm AEDT Thursday.
