Rugby league fans can now prove they were born to support their team by having their club’s colours and mascot emblazoned on their official birth certificate.

Sydney Roosters’ players Sam Moa and Aidan Guerra have received some of the first club-themed birth certificates for their baby daughters Florence and Olive, who were born late last month. The birth certificates give passionate supporters a unique new way to show their devotion.

Moa said he was looking forward to having his daughter in the stands at future matches and was proud to receive a Roosters-themed birth certificate for her.

"Fatherhood has been a true blessing – little Florence already has a Roosters’ onesie and now we can add an official birth certificate to her Roosters’ collection."

Guerra added, "Becoming a dad is the best – it’s amazing the immediate impact these little human beings have on you. Olive is already a proud little Rooster and this NRL birth certificate is a great memento for her."

The commemorative birth certificates are available in all 16 NRL-Club designs for anyone born in New South Wales.

Births Deaths & Marriages Registrar Amanda Ianna presented the players and proud dads with birth certificates and invited footy fans to apply for their very own piece of history.

"Die-hard fans will tell you their love for their club is part of their identity and what better way to express your allegiance than by one of the most important documents in your life – your birth certificate," said Ms Ianna.

NRL commemorative birth certificates are available as part of a $77 package, which includes a standard birth certificate. The standard certificate is an important identity document required for school enrolment, ordering a passport and other key milestones in life.
