Harvey Norman provides footy packs for national touch football competitions
Touch Football affiliated competitions across the country have additional reasons to celebrate, as major sponsor Harvey Norman commenced delivery of vital competition equipment to 350 Touch Football Australia affiliated competitions nationally.
The 'Go Harvey Go' packs include footballs, kit bags, ball pumps and more and are a welcome support for the more than 670,000 touch football players across Australia that enjoy the game year round.
Penrith Panthers captain Matt Moylan, whose brother Ben plays touch football for Australia, joined Australian touch football captain Nick Good and touch football junior participants from Penrith Touch Football Association this week to deliver one of 150 packs that will be distributed throughout New South Wales to affiliated competitions.
Harvey Norman Chief Operating Officer John Slack-Smith said the company was delighted to once again be providing playing equipment to hundreds of touch football affiliated competitions across Australia.
"This is the second year in a row that Harvey Norman has provided footies, training kits and more to benefit thousands of touch football players," said Slack-Smith.
"Touch Football has one of the largest national sporting footprints and it is important that players, coaches and referees receive the equipment they need to continue to participate, from grassroots right through to the elite level."
Touch Football Australia CEO Colm Maguire thanked Harvey Norman for their ongoing support of the game and said the generosity and commitment shown was one of the main reasons touch football was able to grow and prosper.
"With hundreds of thousands of men, women and children enjoying touch football every week, it is an enormous undertaking to ensure that everyone has access to simple things like footballs and training kits," said Maguire.
"That is where the support of Harvey Norman and the Go Harvey Go packs is invaluable and greatly appreciated."
Go Harvey Go packs will be distributed from now through to September. Further information on the packs and affiliated competitions to receive packs can be found online at www.touchfootball.com.au.
Harvey Norman has been the major partner of Touch Football Australia since 2013.
