Cowboys winger Antonio Winterstein has signed a new contract extension with the club, keeping him at North Queensland until at least 2018.

The Auckland-born wide man has scored 56 tries in 115 games for the Cowboys since 2011, with the former Bronco having scored a total of 75 tries in 162 career matches so far.

"Tones has proven himself at this level time and again. He's a consistent performer, a great finisher and shows strong leadership on and off the field," Cowboys coach Paul Green said.

"To play over 150 games at this level is no mean feat and we're thrilled to have him continue his time at the club."
