Wests Tigers have granted forward Jack Buchanan an immediate release to take up an opportunity with the Widnes Vikings.

Buchanan has played 41 NRL games for the club since making his first grade debut in Round 1 of the 2013 season.

Buchanan said he was looking forward to the next chapter of his career with the Super League side.

“I’ve really enjoyed my four years with Wests Tigers and I want to thank the Club for giving me the opportunity to play first grade,” Buchanan said.

“To have played alongside some of the great players in this team has been unreal.

“I’ve made life-long friends at the club and that is something that I’m really grateful for.”
