Peta Hiku has been ruled out for the season with a knee injury suffered in Round 11.

The Penrith Panthers have confirmed Peta Hiku's season is over after he suffered a torn ACL and MCL during Sunday's game against the Titans at Pepper Stadium.

The Panthers centre will undergo surgery in the next fortnight, with his rehabilitation expected to take at least six months.

Meanwhile rookie Panthers forward James Fisher-Harris is set to miss six to eight weeks with a fractured thumb, and will undergo surgery on Wednesday.
