Blues shake off injury worries
The only NSW injury concerns – hooker Robbie Farah (concussion) and centre Josh Dugan (elbow) have been cleared for take-off after getting through the first two sessions, including Thursday's contact session.
Dugan was passed fit after the first run on Wednesday, leading to shadow player Josh Morris being released back to his club on Thursday to prepare for this weekend's visit to Canberra with the Bulldogs, while Farah came through with flying colours to shake off any ongoing concerns about his concussion suffered against the Bulldogs in Round 10.
"I rested last week [in Round 11] as I needed to do and I did some training (running and weights) on my own Monday and Tuesday after we got into camp," Farah said on Thursday at team training in Coffs Harbour.
"I was ready to go [Wednesday] and got through a full session and I'll get through another full session today. There's no concern there from my end."
Farah's club and NSW teammate Aaron Woods also gave the state vice captain his tick of approval.
"Yeah Robbie was really good. We did some contact today and he just got in there and ripped in and you wouldn't know there was nothing wrong with him.
"He did everything he could last week, I think the Tigers gave him a couple of days off as well just to get the head right and he's been awesome since we've been in this camp."
Woods admitted Farah had been "a little bit rattled" when it first happened but said he had gotten over it quickly.
"He was just a bit quiet [a fortnight ago] with the head knock, he was a little bit rattled but they gave him a couple of days off at the Tigers just to recuperate and he's doing really well now."
Dugan said there were no issues at all with his elbow.
"It's coming along pretty well, it's improving every day and that was always the plan," Dugan said.
"The swelling's gone down fully pretty much… there's a few little loose bits of bone in there from last year as well which is the only thing really annoying me at the moment but it's bearable.
"I'll have to get it cleaned out at the end of the year just to get those loose bodies out of there but as far as I'm concerned I'm ready to go.
"It will just be like last year, I'll just have to strap it every game."
