He's been known to Storm fans all season as Mr Fix-It, but forward Tohu Harris hopes to finally find some consistent playing time in the back row.

The 24-year-old has spent quite some time in the centres this season and was even named at halfback last Saturday night before Cooper Cronk's late inclusion, but the big Kiwi is looking forward to getting back into the middle over the coming weeks.

"I really enjoy playing in the back row, it's where I've trained and played for most of my time," Harris said.

"I'm used to the mindset of if something happens there's a chance of me changing positions, so I'm sort of used to that at the moment. I'm happy to do whatever's needed of me for the team, but I'm really enjoying my time in the back row, and hopefully I get to continue to play there."

The shift to the outside backs earlier this season wasn't a complete unknown for Harris, as he spent some time during the pre-season training out wide.

"I did a bit of training there throughout the pre-season, that was because we've had a few injuries in the backs all pre-season, so it was sort of the same situation where it was required of me to fill in that spot, so I guess it was good preparation for the season getting time there and getting familiar with the position," Harris said.

Harris has spent so much time in the backs this season that he now considers himself a member of both the forwards and backs, although he does admit he cops a bit of a ribbing from teammates because of it.

"I do cop a little bit because I play it up at training sometimes when the backs and forwards split, I do ask 'Where should I go this week?'… Whoever's got the easiest drill I just try to stick with them," Harris laughed.

With Harris likely to push back into the second row for this weekend's game against the Sydney Roosters, the Kiwi is looking forward to linking up once again with his countryman Jesse Bromwich, a man that Harris says he and the other Storm forwards look up to.

"Jesse is our leader in the forward pack, all the boys look to him and he always gets us going forward and makes huge plays for us," Harris said.

"Whenever he does things like that the boys jump on the back of it and it's a real boost for us when he does those things. The last few years he's been doing that on a consistent basis, so that's even better for us."

Another player Harris had nothing but praise for was young forward Nelson Asofa-Solomona.

The 20-year-old has played some very important minutes off the bench this season for the Storm including a very impressive try assist for Copper Cronk against the Panthers, and Harris said there's still more to come from Asofa-Solomona.

"He's really come into his own in the past month or two, he's still learning the game but he's taking huge steps and has made a lot of progress in the last couple of months and that's showing out on the field," Harris said.

"He's coming on and being real aggressive for us off the bench, he's running hard and tackling hard, and as long as he keeps the little effort areas up, he's always going to make an impact like that."
