South Sydney coach Michael Maguire has backed reunited halves Luke Keary and Cody Walker to stir the Rabbitohs to victory against the Eels on Friday.
State of Origin-bound duo Adam Reynolds and Greg Inglis's absence from the Rabbitohs' line-up sees Keary and Walker come together for the first time since Round 6.
The two first combined when Reynolds broke his jaw in the Rabbitohs' season-opener and went on to play the next five games together.
While they only won two games in that period – a huge win over the Knights and a close call against the struggling Sea Eagles – Maguire holds no fears over the two.
"I reckon they'll be great. I'm very excited. Unfortunately last week we weren't able to have Luke Keary and he's been providing a lot of energy around the team which has been excellent," Maguire said.
"Having those boys back together, they've had some experiences together so they basically fit straight in there for Adam and Greg."
Keary has been accustomed to a bench spot of late while Walker for their past three games has been one of the shining lights for the Rabbitohs at fullback.
Maguire though has no concerns for the flow of his side with Alex Johnston shifting to fullback with Aaron Gray and Siosifa Talakai finding new places in the backline.
"Alex Johnston at fullback, it's something he really enjoys and he has shown some really good form there when he's been there so I don't think Walker shifting to six will affect the flow of the team at all," Maguire said.
"AJ has a bit of experience under his belt now and he fits in quite well. Obviously we have certain structures that we play to and the boys can play off the back of that. Their individual brilliance comes out in opportunities off the back of what they're doing."
Prop Nathan Brown has been a criticised figure of late at the Rabbitohs but Maguire said the young firebrand has been tasked with tweaking his discipline moving forward.
Brown has been panned in most rugby league circles for the past fortnight after consecutive incidents where he appeared to stomped Titans forward Agnatius Paasi and hit Wests Tigers' Mitch Moses late while the playmaker was kicking.
"Nathan understands what he needs to do in his game. He's been pushing the boundaries fairly closely there but it's definitely not him," Maguire said.
"He's a player who has to look at his discipline around certain areas and if he fixes that up, he's already providing a lot of great things for us, and he'll only improve."
