To celebrate the Holden State of Origin series we at NRL.com are celebrating by asking fans to vote on their favourite Origin moment.

Today, an unlikely match-winner goes up against a long-awaited victory for NSW.

Timmins field goal

Shaun Timmins experienced the best and worst of Origin, all in the space of 82 minutes as the Blues won the first ever interstate clash to be decided in golden point in the 2004 series opener. Having come up with a bad miss on Maroons halfback Scott Prince as he scored the opening try, Timmins made amends with a four-pointer of his own after the break when he snuck over the line from close range. Then with scores locked at 8-all at full-time, the Kiama junior kicked just the second field goal of his career to clinch the game for the New South Welshman after halfback Craig Gower had earlier missed three attempts in a row.

The streak is over

After eight long years for New South Wales supporters, the Blues finally struck back with a series win over their own in 2014. After winning a tight series opener 12-8 in Brisbane, the Blues ground out an even lower-scoring tussle in the second game in Sydney 6-4 thanks to a try and conversion from new halfback Trent Hodkinson. After such a long wait for the Origin shield NSW didn't dare risk a last-gasp match-winner from the Maroons, with Jarryd Hayne receiving a kick in the dying stages and running the ball past his own dead ball line. He didn't stop there - charging into a sea of blue in the crowd before some emotional celebrations.
