Elated New South Wales Origin prop Aaron Woods says he's never jumped higher than when teammate Michael Jennings scored his late Origin-winning try on Wednesday night.

With the Blues' 18-14 win over Queensland is something to build on heading into next year's series, Woods's excitement got the best of him as his attempt to rejoice with his teammates abruptly went south.

Woods's effort to jump on ecstatic trio of Tyson Frizell, Josh Mansour and Robbie Farah in celebration has gone viral, with the Wests Tigers captain's air swing seeing him bundle to the ANZ Stadium turf instead.

Woods's performance was nothing to be embarrassed about however with the 25-year-old recording 166 metres and 22 tackles.

"It was the air time that I got which gave Sauce (Mansour) enough time to move out of the way I reckon," Woods laughed post-game.

"I was trying to lay on the ground and put my arms up so hopefully nobody could see it, but there was about 60,000 people there who wouldn't have missed it.

"It was an awesome play though. The boys stayed calm, Gal (Blues skipper Paul Gallen) hit Jenko and the rest is history."

"I'll just have to live with it now."

Woods praised the performances of NSW debutants James Tedesco and Wade Graham as the Blues begin looking to the future.

"I thought Teddy was outstanding on his debut. He went to another level, he copped a lot off Greg Inglis there but he did well to fight his way back into the game," Woods said.

"Wade Graham was enormous as well. Tyson Frizell as well, he's been amazing since he's come in over the past two games. It's a work in progress."

Coach Laurie Daley blooded eight new faces into the NSW team this series with Tedesco, Graham and Frizell joined by Matt Moylan, Jack Bird, Josh Mansour and injured duo Dylan Walker and Adam Reynolds.

Origin-hardened prop Andrew Fifita said the Blues' win would be enormous for the team moving forward and also referred to NSW's under-20s side's 36-22 win, their fifth-straight, over Queensland earlier in the night.

"Our win is a great stepping stone for the future and I think if anything, I think we would have Queensland on the back heel now," Fifita said.

"They'll be worried about what our team is going to be next year and what youth we have coming through.

"We saw the young 20s group are going really strong too so I think the future for the Blues is looking good."
