Knights forward Robbie Rochow is yet to secure his playing future beyond 2016.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have signed Robbie Rochow for the 2017 season.

Rochow, 26, has played 74 NRL games to date for the Newcastle Knights and Melbourne Storm since making his first grade debut for the Storm against the Roosters in 2010. Rochow also represented Country Origin in 2014.

Rabbitohs head coach Michael Maguire is delighted to have Rochow joining the club for the 2017 season.

“I’ve worked with Robbie previously at the Melbourne Storm and he will bring great character and leadership to our club next season,” Coach Maguire said.

“He’s a very driven individual and wants to add to the culture we have built here at South Sydney.

“In our meetings with him he wants to achieve the same goals as the rest of our group and we are sure that he will be a valuable contributor to our team.

“He will also create more competition for selection in our NRL side next year which spurs on our players to perform at their best, be it at training or in games.

“We’re looking forward to having him join our ranks in the pre-season.”
