Matt Elliott in this week's NRL.com Breakdown.

This week on The Breakdown, NRL.com analyst Matt Elliott assesses all four preliminary finals sides ahead of this weekend's grand final qualifiers.

While they might have lost one of their best defenders in Ethan Lowe, Elliott claims Coen Hess is more than up to the task and explains how the rest of the North Queensland side can cover for any minor mistakes he makes.

When the Broncos made a break down Hess's side of the field in last week's semi-final, it was the left-side players who pulled off some "mind-blowing" defence, according to Elliott.

"The left-side back-rower, coming over to help the right side out. This is something the Cowboys do particularly well, when they're broken down they come from everywhere," Elliott explained.

The former Penrith and Canberra coach also looks at where the game will be won and lost in the Storm-Raiders preliminary final.
