The Kiwi Ferns celebrate their win over the Jillaroos at Hunter Stadium.

Strap yourself in as NRL.com takes a look back at the season that's been, including our most viewed content on a week- to-week basis.

The Jillaroos and Kiwi Ferns ensured an amazing start to the 2016 representative round by stealing the show in Newcastle. Their male counterparts followed but failed to live up to the hype of the women's game. The Kangaroos came up with a 16-0 win in a dour affair. Papua New Guinea produced one of the biggest upsets of the year by beating Fiji. The Samoans and Tongans combined for 30 errors and 76 missed tackles but it took nothing away from the Samoans' incredible victory. A largely inexperienced City Origin side rounded out the weekend in Tamworth with a huge win over Country.
