Panthers prop James Tamou.

Our NRL stars of modern times are no different to the rest of us; their phones are never too far from reach when they are off the training paddock or away from the gym. But which apps get the most frequent use?

James Tamou (Panthers)

I'm pretty hopeless and not on the phone much being at home with the kids and keeping them occupied but I probably use Spotify or iTunes out of everything, just to play some music.

Brad Takairangi (Eels)

Probably WhatsApp. All the boys are in a big group chat together and there is plenty of banter amongst all of us so I'm always on the phone messaging them and stirring them up.

Sam Lisone (Warriors)

Probably Viber because the boys are always on there in a chat. We have a group going with all the boys over here. Charlie Gubb is probably the funniest, he always writes a funny comment and there's a bit of banter and roasting going on.

Corey Oates (Broncos)

It would probably be Instagram or something, but I don't really like social media that much. The boys are pretty good around here with their phones. We always go for a coffee and have a chat after each training session. Everyone puts their phones away so it's always pretty social. In saying that, I play a few games in my spare time. I'm going to get into fishing soon so I'll be on the weather apps.

Ryan James (Titans)

Realestate.com. I'm always looking around, trying to help people out. If friends are looking for a house or looking around I'll get on that and have a bit of a search for them. It's probably the only one I use on my phone, that and Gumtree.

Kevin Naiqama (Wests Tigers)

It's actually a Bible app called YouVersion. It's similar to Facebook where you add your friends and there is a newsfeed with Bible plans and what others are reading and what verses they're sharing. A few of the boys here are all on it and some of the Sharks boys too. As for the other boys, I would say James Tedesco's would be Instagram and all those photos he posts.

Solomone Kata (Warriors)

I stay away from all that stuff with social media. I don't like that stuff. The only time I use my phone is when my family or my missus messages me.
