Raiders fullback Jack Wighton proved to be a defensive weapon in 2016.

The Raiders have received a huge boost heading into their Round 12 match against the Roosters, with Jack Wighton agreeing to a new deal with the club until the end of the 2020 season.

Wighton has been one of the Raiders' most consistent and exciting players over the past two seasons, with a permanent shift to fullback making him one of the most important parts of the Green Machine.

Making his debut for the Raiders in 2012, Wighton has played over 100 matches at NRL level and has represented both the Indigenous All-Stars and Country Origin teams.

Wighton said he’s looking forward to continuing his career with the Green Machine and helping the Raiders towards a premiership.

"I’m very excited and very happy to stay here in Canberra with the Raiders and I know we’ve got a really strong team here and great club," Wighton said. “We all want to work towards winning a premiership and I’m really looking forward to the next few seasons here."
