South Sydney are not concerned with their preparation heading into the clash with Parramatta on Friday night despite a five-day turnaround after their 14-6 loss to Melbourne on the weekend.
The Bunnies only flew out of Perth on Monday and have been restricted to a limited training regime this week, but rookie forward Tyrell Fuimaono doesn't believe the side will be hampered.
Just two games into his NRL career the 21-year-old takes on his former club for the first time after departing Sydney's west at the end of last season.
"I don't think the five-day turnaround will really affect us," Fuimaono said.
"We'll do our best to recover to tick every box so we should be fine.
"We can take a lot of good things out of the game but at the end of the day we didn't get the two points so we'll have to go into Friday night with a focus on where we can improve."
"I still got mates that live out there [at Parramatta] that I rarely get to catch up with so it will be a good experience to play against them."
The opportunity to link with the Rabbitohs under coach Michael Maguire with a wealth of experienced players was a driving force behind the former Junior Kangaroo's decision to join Souths.
With the ability to play at centre or in the back row, the St Mary's junior had been stuck behind the likes of Brad Takairangi and Tepai Moeroa in the pecking order at the Eels.
Fuimaono now finds himself on the Rabbitohs bench and learning off players he idolised on three years ago.
"We do have a leadership group and a lot of players that have been in the game for a long time with wisdom like John Sutton and Robbie Farah," he said.
"They've got a lot of knowledge in the game so I definitely come to training with the mentality to learn off those guys every day."
After a promising debut, Fuimaono played only 24 minutes against the Storm last week but was hopeful of more game time as the season progresses and as he cements a spot in Maguire's line-up.
"I'm always looking to build, put in a big week of training and try to better myself each week," Fuimaono said.
"I think that's the goal for everyone really to keep getting better as a player.
"The big thing I've noticed is the speed of the game and [the importance] of efforts and maintaining them for the whole game with the endurance and mental strength."
Neither the Rabbitohs or Eels will be represented in State of Origin I on Wednesday night with NSW veteran Robbie Farah a notable omission from the side that went down to Queensland last season and Rabbitohs fullback Greg Inglis missing with a knee injury for the Maroons.
Meanwhile Parramatta's mid-season recruit Mitchell Moses will line-up against the Rabbitohs for the third time this season after playing against Souths twice with the Wests Tigers earlier in the year.
