Roosters winger Shaun Kenny-Dowall against the Knights in Round 7.

The Newcastle Knights have signed former Roosters and Kiwis outside back Shaun Kenny-Dowall, effective immediately, through to the end of the 2019 season.

Kenny-Dowall made his NRL debut at the Sydney Roosters in 2007 and has played 224 NRL games. He won a premiership with the Roosters in 2013 and has played 20 matches for New Zealand.

"We welcome a player of Shaun’s talent and experience to the club,” CEO Matt Gidley told the Knights website.

"Shaun is an international and premiership winning player and I have no doubt he will impress both on and off the field.

"While Shaun has been through a difficult period recently, following our discussions we are confident he will make a positive contribution to the club and community."

Kenny-Dowall is unavailable for selection this week due to a hamstring injury.
