He's gone from a self-proclaimed "nobody" to a State of Origin series winner in a matter of weeks and now Tim Glasby is hungry for more glory.
The 28-year-old was a shock selection for the Queensland Maroons during this year's series, making his debut off the bench in Game Two before starring in one of the highlights of the series in Game Three.
Glasby collected a loose ball on the halfway line and bolted towards the try-line, but a desperate James Maloney tackled him just short of what would have been a career highlight for the hard-working forward.
This was just one moment that stuck out for Glasby in what was a whirlwind month of football that climaxed with a 22-6 Queensland victory over the New South Wales Blues, wrapping up an 11th series victory in 12 years for the Maroons.
Speaking to NRL.com, Glasby said the experience has made him want to inflict more pain on the Blues in 2018.
"It was the same after Game Two. All I wanted to do then was get back onto the field in Game Three," Glasby said.
"It was a dream come true running out in the Maroons jersey for Game Two and it was an even bigger boost running out at Suncorp.
"The last month or so has been an absolute blur. I've just enjoyed it so much.
"Hopefully I can come back but I just need to focus on my club footy and work hard at the Storm. We will see what happens.
"It's been great. The camps have been fantastic and the games have been such an experience.
"I've learnt a lot over the series. I'm very honoured that I've been able to be a part of it all. It's been a massive learning experience for me and I've really enjoyed it.
"I think I've taken a lot out of it. Hopefully I can continue on and take a bit of it back to club level and hopefully more Origin games to come in the future as well."
It is clear Glasby has the approval of captain and Melbourne Storm teammate Cameron Smith, with their alliance seeing the prop earn his Origin debut.
But ultimately it was up to Maroons coach Kevin Walters to take a punt on the Rockhampton junior and for that Glasby is forever grateful.
"I'm so grateful to Kevvie and all the selectors for giving me a crack. I really, really appreciate it," he said.
"It's something I'll be forever thankful for. It's been an amazing experience. I really enjoyed it."
