Sydney Roosters utility Connor Watson has signed a three-year deal with the Newcastle Knights, starting in 2018.

Watson, who scored for the Roosters against Newcastle on Friday night, has played 30 NRL games since making his debut last season.

"Connor is an exciting young talent who has plenty of great football ahead of him," Knights CEO Matt Gidley said.

"There is no doubt Connor will grow with our team and be a great addition to the club."

Watson's signing follows Newcastle's recruitment of young Cowboys fullback Kalyn Ponga, Broncos centre Tautau Moga and Roosters second-rower Aidan Guerra for 2018, with Shaun Kenny-Dowall scoring on his club debut on Friday after making a mid-season move to the Knights.
