The Broncos' premiership aspirations have been dealt a massive blow with hooker Andrew McCullough confirming that he will miss the remainder of the season due to a knee injury.

McCullough was a victim of friendly fire in Friday night's loss to the Parramatta Eels when teammate Adam Blair crashed into his leg while making a tackle, the 27-year-old confirming on Instagram on Sunday that he will require knee surgery on Friday that will end his 2017 campaign.

McCullough left the field in the 69th minute on Friday and although Ben Hunt shifted into hooker as Benji Marshall was introduced from the bench, the No.9 duties are now likely to fall to utility Kodi Nikorima who has spent most of the year playing halfback.

The Broncos will train at their Red Hill headquarters on Monday ahead of their clash with the Titans on the Gold Coast next Saturday.
