Young Warriors prop Isaiah Papali'i.

Stephen Kearney has named seven new recruits and a debutant for the Warriors opening round clash against the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Perth on Saturday.

As expected, Blake Green will line up in the halves alongside Shaun Johnson while Peta Hiku will start at centre and join Tongan international David Fusitu'a on the right edge.

With news earlier this week that Simon Mannering will miss the match through a shoulder injury, 19-year-old Isaiah Papali'i has been given the opportunity to start in the back row next to Tohu Harris and Ligi Sao.

Papali'i stared for the Warriors throughout the pre-season and earned praise from Kearney after the trial win over the Gold Coast Titans a fortnight ago.

Sam Cook has won the race for the back-up hooker position made vacant by the season-ending injury to Nathaniel Roache - and will make his first-grade debut off the bench.

Issac Luke will start at hooker with James Gavet and veteran acquisition Adam Blair set to partner him in the engine room.

Second-rower Leivaha Pulu and centre Anthony Gelling have also been included on the extended eight-man bench along with front-rower Agnatius Paasi, who played one NRL game for the Warriors in 2014 before making 54 appearances for the Titans from 2015-2017.
