With the new NRL season comes fresh hope for tipsters everywhere. If there is anyone still sweating over their tips for round one of the new season, which starts at 8pm (AEDT) on when the St George Illawarra Dragons take on Brisbane Broncos, here are the opening week tips from our NRL.com experts.

For those of you still to join up for NRL tipping, click here to become part of the fun. If you miss tonight’s match then don’t worry, you can still join tomorrow, Saturday or even next week. The best idea is to sign up today to give yourself a chance of starting with the perfect round.

We've made some important changes to our new and improved competitions, as well as the usual array of mouth-watering prizes headed by a VIP trip to the 2019 NRL Nines.

This year, a single NRL Tipping registration will cover entry into both our regular competition and our new in-season component - The Streak.

This is a knock-out competition that starts in round eight with the longest winning run crowned our Streak winner.

With the regular NRL season shortening from 26 rounds to 25 this year, the nine games of the 2018 NRL Finals series will also be included in the NRL tipping competition as round 26.

Now, about those prizes. The overall 2018 NRL Tipping winner will receive a VIP trip for two to the 2019 NRL Nines competition for their troubles.

This prize includes two VIP tickets to the tournament, two night’s accommodation, flights from your nearest capital city, food and beverage vouchers and exclusive event activities.

For our 2018 NRL Tipping Club Champions winner, a signed club jersey is up for grabs in each club-supported league.

Whoever takes out The Streak Tipping in 2018 with the longest streak at the end of the season will claim a $300 NRL Shop voucher.

And this year's Weekly Winners - the top five tippers each round, where eight or more games are played - will receive a KFC voucher valued at $15.
