The Eels are taking a cautious approach with Clint Gutherson's knee injury, with his return pushed back from round three to round eight by the Eels. Tony Williams is suspended for the opening two rounds but should have recovered from a knee injury once that is served.

Kiwi international Dean Whare made a successful return from injury on the weekend but the news wasn't so good for teammate Tim Browne, who ruptured his bowel in the Intrust Super Premiership fixture prior to the main game. The club is expected to provide further details later in the week on Browne's recovery time. Sam McKendry's scans have confirmed the worst with the Penrith prop suffering another ACL injury on his troublesome right knee. It is the third year running that McKendry has injured his ACL.
