Corey Jensen and Lachlan Coote were omitted from the squad one hour before kick-off, meaning the Cowboys will start 1-17. Coote will return to action via the Intrust Super Cup. Francis Molo and Enari Tuala were dropped from the reserves bench 24 hours out from kick-off.

James Fisher-Harris will start for the Panthers in No.17, with James Tamou to start from the bench. Jarome Luai and Nick Lui-Toso were the two men dropped from the squad an hour before kick-off. Tyrone Peachey replaces the injured Nathan Cleary (knee) in the halves with James Maloney moving to halfback. Liam Martin and Kaide Ellis were dropped from the reserves bench 24 hours out from kick-off.

Josh Dugan is a late withdrawal from the Sharks side. Valentine Holmes will move to fullback, with Edrick Lee to start on the wing. As well as Dugan, Kurt Dillon dropped out of the squad an hour before kick-off. Matt Moylan will miss a second-straight match with a knee injury, with Trent Hodkinson (No.19) to start at five-eighth for a second-straight week. Luke Lewis replaces Jayson Bukuya (groin) in the second row. As well as Moylan, Braden Uele was dropped from the squad 24 hours out from kick-off.

Brock Lamb replaces the injured Connor Watson (shoulder) at five-eighth with Chris Heighington returning on the bench after being a late withdrawal on Sunday. Jack Cogger and Luke Yates dropped off the extended bench on Saturday and Danny Levi and Ken Sio were omitted an hour before kick-off. Nathan Brown pulled a late switch by promoting Daniel Saifiti to the starting side with Mitch Barnett dropping back to the interchange.

The Broncos have no further injury concerns after losing Tevita Pangai jnr and Corey Oates earlier in the week. Both Matt Lodge and James Roberts stepped away from training on Thursday. Roberts had to attend to a private matter while Lodge had a minor injury, and neither are in any doubt for Sunday's local derby. Gehamat Shibasaki and Patrick Mogo dropped off the extended bench on Saturday with Sam Tagataese and Todd Murphy omitted an hour before kick-off to make Brisbane 1-17.

Keegan Hipgrave is suspended for one match, replaced on the bench by Max King. AJ Brimson and Tyronne Roberts-Davis were dropped from the extended bench on Saturday with Leilani Latu and Ryan Simpkins also omitted an hour before kick-off. Morgan Boyle has been promoted from the reserves to the interchange.
