Melbourne Storm lock Dale Finucane has joined the growing injury list from a horror round four, with the club announcing the Bega product will be sidelined for four to six weeks with a thumb fracture.

The durable NSW hopeful has missed just a single game since joining the club in 2015.

Finucane played 52 minutes of Friday night's sluggish loss to the Sharks and his loss is another blow to a side that has yet to hit its strides in 2018.

It is also a fresh headache for Blues coach Brad Fittler with Finucane's fellow potential NSW debutants Jordan McLean and Nathan Cleary already sidelined with long-term injuries.
