The potential match-up of James Roberts and Greg Inglis is a spectacle set to light up the opening State of Origin match in Melbourne insists Steve Renouf in this week's NRL Podcast.

Renouf has outlined why Roberts' performance in the Brisbane Broncos' 28-22 win over the Sydney Roosters "gave me goose bumps" and said NSW must now choose the speedster for his Origin debut at right centre where a showdown with Queensland legend Inglis loomed.

"Roberts will be going up against one of the game's best and I am sure GI will be thinking the same thing," Renouf said.

After the classic duel between Latrell Mitchell and Roberts last week, Renouf reckons Brad Fittler will pick them both to take on the Maroons.

In the Podcast, which was recorded before the drama surrounding the future of Brisbane coach Wayne Bennett broke, Renouf outlines why NRL CEO Todd Greenberg and Bennett were right that Dylan Napa should have been charged for his head-on-head tackle on Korbin Sims.

He also casts his eye over Titans halves AJ Brimson and Ash Taylor and explains why they are so suited as a partnership.

Renouf reveals why he has a big rap on South Sydney hooker Damien Cook, states his view on what Cowboys star Michael Morgan's best position is and analyses the round 12 fixtures in full.
