Talented outside back Edrick Lee has agreed to join the nib Newcastle Knights on a three-year-deal from season 2019.

A versatile player who can cover wing, centre and fullback, Lee is an exciting talent with more than 80 first grade games to his name.

Standing at 196 centimetres, the addition of Lee not only provides the Knights with an imposing presence in the backline but an experienced campaigner.

"Edrick is an exciting player with size, height and speed. He will be a great addition, not only to our backline but to our playing group," General Manager Football, Darren Mooney said.

"He's a talent with experience and a wealth of potential.

"Our squad has a great mix of youth and experience across every position so not only will he offer plenty on the field, he adds more depth to what is becoming a very competitive roster next season."

A product of Brisbane, Lee started his career in Canberra where he made his NRL debut as a teenager in 2012.

After five seasons with the Raiders, the Junior Kangaroo moved to Cronulla in 2017 where he has spent the past two seasons.

An Indigenous All Stars representative, Lee has been part of the Emerging Queensland Origin program and was brought into Maroons camp as 18th man in 2015.

The 25-year-old has scored 42 tries in 83 first grade appearances.

The addition of Lee to the Club continues a strong recruitment drive which includes Lee's Sharks teammate and fellow back Jesse Ramien and Melbourne forward Tim Glasby.
