Melbourne five-eighth Cameron Munster says he is enjoying Jahrome Hughes' ability to create something out of nothing as the Storm build towards the Telstra Premiership finals.
The classy pivot admitted it has been a frustrating experience having to chop and change different halves partners in 2018, with Brodie Croft and Ryley Jacks spending large blocks of times wearing the no. 7 jersey before Hughes has stepped up over the last couple of weeks.
"I've had some different halves partners in the last eight to nine weeks, it has been frustrating at times but we couldn't justify Jahrome not playing with us as he is playing some outstanding footy," Munster said.
"What I love about him is the way he backs himself, he sees what is in front of him and plays on his instincts."
Hughes' running game has come to the fore over the last few weeks at fullback and in the halves, giving the Storm multiple points in attack.
"Things don't change too much with Jahrome, he is similar to myself in that he is a running five-eighth, he just has the number seven on his back," Munster said.
"He runs the ball, will always create something out of nothing and when he has his hands on the ball he is going to do something scary.

"It's what we love about him and hopefully he can keep going the way he is going."
Munster says he is not expecting Hughes to replicate Cooper Cronk's game, just wanting him to do his job.
"It's hard to compare anyone to Cooper, he is one of the best halves of our generation,'' he said.
"We don't expect anything special from him. We just need him (Hughes) to back himself, make his tackles and shift the ball out to Fuse [Felise Kaufusi] and [Will] Chambers then they will do the rest."
